NBMAA ART Party of the Year
The Italian-themed ART Party of the Year May 1 not only celebrated New Britain [Connecticut] Museum of American Art Director Douglas Hyland's 10 years of service, but also served as a fundraiser for the museum's ambitious array of exhibits and programs.  "It was an honor and a privilege for me to be able to support the museum and honor Douglas by donating my painting, 'San Gimignano', for the auction," Rosemary Connor said.  Co-chaired by Margaret Lawson, along with Susan Rathgebar and Christine Shivery, the party was a trip down memory lane for Hyland. "It does not feel one bit like 10 years, more like just two," said a beaming Hyland as he fielded well-wishes from guests who poured into the New Britain museum, which has grown dramatically under his leadership.

Two of NBMAA's trustees celebrate the successful outcome of the auction at the NBMMA gala.
